Joseph L. Yacono, Jr., age 84 of Pitman, NJ died Friday, June 8, 2012 in Philadelphia. A retired butcher, he had worked for Freda Meats in Philadelphia. He was involved in many activities at Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish at both Our Lady Queen of Peace and Our Lady of Lourdes churches and he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a former Mason and he enjoyed casino trips. Husband of the late Barbara Yacono, he is survived by his sons: Charles J. (Chick) Condran and his wife Joyce of West Deptford and Joseph L. Yacono, III and his wife Lorie of Pitman, grandchildren: Joseph IV, Alyson and Mallory and sister: Kathleen A. Smith of Homosassa, FL. Relatives and friends may visit with the family 8-10 AM Tuesday, June 12 at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Mantua, NJ followed by the Funeral Mass at 11 AM at Our Lady Queen Of Peace Church (Mary Mother of Mercy Parish), Pitman, NJ.
