Obituary for Rev. Thomas B. Naglee Sr.

Rev. Thomas Burley Naglee age 87 passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016. Born on September 2, 1929, he was the son of the late Rev. Jacob H. Naglee, Jr. and Dorcas (nee Ingersoll). He was a graduate of Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky and a graduate of Crozer Theological Seminary in Chester, PA. Rev. Naglee served as a United Methodist pastor for 22 years, serving churches throughout South Jersey. He was a Probation Officer for Cape May County, NJ for 14 years and Pastor Emeritus at Cape May United Methodist Church from 1977 until 2006. Rev. Naglee was a resident of the United Methodist Communities at Pitman for the past ten years. He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Margerine “Margie” (nee Craig) who were married on Thanksgiving evening, November 22, 1951. He is also survived by his children, Marcia (Jim) Kates, Tom Jr., and Anne (Chris) Jones; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great granddaughters. Rev. Naglee was predeceased by his brothers, Jacob III and Rev. David I. Naglee; and his sister, Joanna Jane Naglee. Burial was private. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, October 23, 2016, at the Cape May United Methodist Church, 635 Washington Street, Cape May, NJ 08204. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Fellowship Fund, United Methodist Communities at Pitman, 535 North Oak Avenue, Pitman, NJ 08071, Attn: Pam Piccone.
