George G. Walker Sr. age 82, of Hollywood, FL formerly of Mantua passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017. Born in Fairview, NJ to the late Charles Walker and Ellen (nee Lindh), he joined the US Army at the age of 17 and served during the Korean War. George earned his GED in South Korea and later received his Diploma from his Alma Mater Northeast High School in Philadelphia. He worked for the US Post Office in Philadelphia for 9 years and retired from the Mantua Township Police Department after 25 years where he was a Police Dispatcher. George was a Lifetime Member of the Mantua V.F.W. Post #7679, the 25th Infantry Division Association, & the Combat Infantry Association, member of the Military Order of Cooties, 27th Wolfhound Regiment (Wolfpack), and American Legion Post #33 of Mantua, and associate member of Co "L" 25th Infantry Regiment. He was also an honorary member of the Mantua Ladies Auxiliary Post 7679.

He is survived by his children, Joan (Ronald) Warlow of Sewell, Deborah (Eric) Madden of Thorofare, Barbara (Joey) Walker of West Deptford, Catherine (Mike) Portalatin of FL, Peggy Justice of KY, Monica (Volla) Mounce of KY, Tracy (Robert) Miller of KY, George Walker Jr. of KY, 20 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, his sister, Betsey Grace Gillies, his companion Geraldine Murcavage, his former wives, Joan C. Walker-Weiss, & Jane Holden-Dees, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces & nephews. George was also predeceased by his daughter, Cheryl Martus,his granddaughter, Christine Walker, his brothers, Charles (Bruz) & John, and his sisters, Ellen & Dorothy.

Family & Friends may visit from 6 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, May 24th, and 10 am to 11 am on Thursday, May 25th at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street. Mantua, where a funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Monroe Township, NJ.
