Obituary for Robert D. O'Donnell Sr.

Robert D. O'Donnell Sr. [Bob] age 75, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016 in Jacksonville, FL. He was the son of James and Katherine [nee Rogers] O’Donnell. Born and raised in Camden, N.J., he graduated from Gloucester Catholic High School in 1960. He was an outstanding basketball player who received many MVP awards and was Captain of the 1960 team. Bob became top salesman at Parker Seal, and then opened his own distributorship in Cincinnati, Ohio, Southern Ohio Seal. He built the business to double its value, and then sold it. Jacksonville seems the right place for another business venture and he open AllTex Seal & Packing. AllTex has expanded and now includes a branch in Atlanta, GA. Bob loved to golf and had a condo in Hilton Head. He had four great loves, his wife, family, friends and basketball. He traveled, but always included his wife and children on vacations to Europe and the United States. He was a Civil War buff and visited many of the famous sights. Robert is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jane O'Donnell (nee Andrews), sons Rob O'Donnell Jr. (Pam), Andrew O'Donnell (Christina), daughter Rachel [Stephen] Rodenbaugh, five grandchildren, Ryan, Kevin, Alex, Matt & Curtis, his brother James O'Donnell and sister Kathleen Lovett. He is also survived by his brother-in-law James Andrews and his wife Mary Ann. He is predeceased by his siblings, Alice Larson, Mary, Charles and Kenneth O'Donnell. Family and Friends are invited to visit from 9:30 am to 11 am on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Smith Funeral Home 47 Main Street Mantua, NJ 08051.
