Condolences

Condolence From: Andy Bosma
Condolence: Oom Joop had a positive effect on my life and my way of thinking. Not to get stuck in the reasons why you should not do something but to "just do it"
After the summers of 'character building' I had a new understanding of hard work!
Oom Joop will be missed, but he will be with his Tante Gerry again. From us here in The Netherlands we wish all the best. Nancy, Demi, Drew and Andy Bosma.

Condolence From: Gary Lundquist
Condolence: You would think it would be easy to offer condolences for the man who saved my life over 50 years ago, but its not. I can’t believe its been over 40 years since I’ve seen him, and even worse I can’t believe I don’t recall ever thanking him…not just for the “Life Saving”, which is kind of important to me, but also for all the other things he did, for me and for a lot of the kids of Westville. Yes, the camping trips were great and always fun, and often required him to use his vacation time on us. But I’m also grateful for the other stuff too; the dragging us to folk fairs in Philadelphia, the tumbling classes we took at the YMCA, trips to the zoo and historic sights… Few people took their responsibility as Scout Master as seriously as he did. And I’ll always remember the campfire stories of life in Indonesia, his experiences in the Labor Camps during World War II, and I’ll never forget the life lessons either—”WASH YOUR FACE GARY!! WHAT KIND OF STUPID ARE YOU?” he would ask…at the top of his lungs. I just wish I could remember thanking him for it all….or even just a portion. So THANK YOU Mr. Van Brill….. You made my life so much better….. not to mention longer.
