Obituary for Andre Olavarria

Andre Olavarria (November 26th, 1986) age 30 passed away on May 18th 2017. Andre suffered from depression most of his adult life and gave in to the pain and loneliness associated with depression. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Andre had lived in New Jersey for the past 10 years. Andre is survived by his mother, Colette Olavarria (Bruce Goodman), Katrina, his Golden Retriever and his father Osvaldo Olavarria. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Andre was very creative and had a passion for cooking. He was pursuing his culinary degree and had worked in various restaurant kitchens since he was 17 years old. He started as a dishwasher but his passion helped him work his way up to cook. He worked both in Milwaukee and New Jersey at a variety of restaurants and institutions. He was working at Ruby Tuesday in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, at the time of his passing. Andre loved animals, especially dogs. Andre will always remain in the hearts and minds of his family and will always be loved as we struggle through understanding his death.

A memorial service will be held for Andre on June 10, 2017 at Incarnation Church, 240 Main St., Mantua, New Jersey. There will be a gathering at 10 am at the church followed by Mass at 11 am and then a luncheon in the church center. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the SPCA at http://spcai.org/ or charity of your choice.
