Obituary for Richard L. Bryant

Richard (Dick) L Bryant age 79, of West Deptford passed away at home on Saturday, May 27, 2017. Born in Hammond, IN he was the son of the late Harold L Bryant and Elizabeth J (nee Whitney). He graduated from Gloucester High School Class of 1956 where he played football and ran track & field. Dick served in the Army, and would later retire from Mitel Telecommunication after working there for 38 years. He then drove a school bus for several years for H.A. DeHart & Son in West Deptford. Dick was a Life Time Member of the Verga Fire Company, and in his spare time enjoyed going to his cabin in Poconos, hunting, fishing, and target shooting.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jeannette E. (nee Kampf), three sons, Jack Bryant (Kevin Shumaker) of Mickleton, Thomas Bryant (Lauren) of Middletown, DE, & Gary Bryant (Sandra Lopez) of Lower Alloway Creek, four grandchildren, Katie, Gordon, Ava, & Millie, and his sister, Catherine Hill of Gibbstown. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Al Hill.

Family & Friends may visit from 9:30 am to 11 am on Friday, June 2nd, at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, where funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro. As an expression of sympathy, contributions can be made to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter, 1200 N.
