Kenneth J.  Shaw
Kenneth J. Shaw age 71, of Mantua passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from complications of MS. Born in Salem to Donald P. and Mildred C. (nee Ardelt) Shaw, he was a graduate of Penns Grove High School Class of 1964. Ken served in the Army National Guard and later worked at DuPont's Chambers Works plant in Deepwater as a Lab Tech for 39 years. Ken spent a number of years as co-owner of Shaws Tavern, ever expanding his circle of friends. Ken was an avid sports fan: Recognized as Tri-County leading scorer in Basketball his Senior Year, but he also played baseball from Little league thru men's baseball & softball leagues. He was a loyal Philadelphia Eagles fan and season ticket holder since 1978. His most recent and fondest times though were on the golf course- as a member of the Sakima Country Club, but also traveling and playing wherever he could. Ken was a longstanding member of the Servicemen's Memorial Home in Carneys Point and the American Legion. He and Debbie loved to travel, which often included his fondness for history and our National Parks.

Ken is survived by his wife Deborah (nee Storti), his son David (Michelle) of Carney's Point, and beloved granddaughters, Madisyn and Devyn Alloway-Shaw, his brother Donald of Pennsville, sister Meredith Ball (John) of Claremont, NH, and numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. Ken was predeceased by his parents, brother Robert, and sister-in-law Nancy Shaw.

Family and Friends are invited to visit from 11:30am to 1:30 pm on Thursday, August 17th- followed by a Time of Sharing @1:30pm- at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ. Interment will take place at a later date. Should you wish to offer a remembrance, the family requests in lieu of flowers, a contribution be made in Ken's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
