Obituary for Clarence John Golembiewski

Clarence John Golembiewski, 98, of Mantua, NJ died suddenly at Inspira Hospital in Woodbury, NJ early Monday morning, September 4, 2017. He is survived by his daughter, Amy Fratz (Carl), granddaughers Kristen Vogl (David), Karli (John Bliley) all of Mantua; Kellie Browder and grandson Raymond Browder (Stephanie) of Florida. He adored his two great-grandchildren, Ava and Austin Vogl of Mantua. He was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Beatrice Golembiewski (née McKinlay), companion Helen Benson, and wife Ruth Raczka Golembiewski, and daughter Sheila Cook.
Clarence was born and raised in Lyndhurst, NJ, where he worked for Bendix Corporation and eventually relocated with the company to Eatontown, NJ. A long-time resident of West Long Branch, Clarence served as a volunteer fireman and was Captain of the First Aide Squad. Upon retirement, he moved to Florida, and eight years ago settled in Dartmouth, MA. Upon the death of his wife Ruth, he relocated to Mantua, NJ, to live with his daughter, Amy and her family.
Clarence was a sweet, gentle soul who passed away suddenly, but peacefully. He lived a full life and was just three weeks shy of his 99th birthday. He spent his last day doing what he loved, being with his family and watching multiple college football games on TV. His family will miss his many stories and constant presence on the front porch doing his job of self-appointed "neighborhood watchman and official postman greeter".
Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to your favorite charity in Clarence's name or to the following organizations: 32 Degree Masonic Learning Centers for Children, 902 Jacksonville Road, Burlington, NJ, 08016 or to Shriners Hospital for Children of Philadelphia, c/o Crescent Shrine, 700 Highland Drive, Westampton Twp., NJ, 08060.
