John J. Kmiec
October 26, 1927 to September 11, 2017

John J. Kmiec, age 89, of Deptford Twp. "Pine Acres" passed away peacefully on September 11, 2017. Born in Philadelphia PA on October 26, 1927. John enlisted in the US Army in 1946 and served honorably in Germany post World War II. Upon returning home he met Eileen and married her on June 29, 1957. Eileen was the love of his life. They had two daughters and settled in Pine Acres (Oak Valley) NJ in 1963. John was a member of Teamsters Local 676 and worked for ARA Services as a Vending Machine Mechanic. There was nothing electrical or mechanical he could not fix. Upon retiring in 1989, he enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to Jazz and Big Band music, caring for Eileen and enjoying his grandchildren. John was a huge car and Technology enthusiast.
Husband of the late Eileen Kmiec (nee O'Brien) he is survived by his daughters, Maryanne Brennan & her husband Joseph of Woodbury and Jacqueline Rose & her husband Edward of Wenonah, and three grandchildren Kathleen, Joseph, and Patrick. Family and Friends may visit from 9:30 am to 11 am on Thursday, September 14th, at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street Mantua, NJ where funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday. Burial with military honors will follow at Wenonah Cemetery.
