Obituary for Donald J. Burke

Donald J.  Burke
Donald J. Burke age 66, of Wenonah passed Friday, November 17th, 2017. Donald worked in construction management and raised his family in South Jersey over the last 30 plus years.
Donald attended Camden Catholic High School and St Joseph's University where he received a full athletic scholarship for Cross Country Running and maintained a 4 minute mile. He, along with his brothers and sister, was active in competitive sports as a young man. After receiving a degree in accounting, he worked as a construction and project manager throughout NJ overseeing many housing developments and other projects.
Donald had a tremendous sense of humor which he passed on to his two children. Throughout his near lifelong battle with Multiple Sclerosis, it was his sense of humor that kept him and his family going.
Donald enjoyed spending time with his wife and children, Reese's cups, Coca Cola and laughing in inappropriate situations.
Donald is survived by his wife Heidi (nee Olson), children Christopher (Jenna) Burke and Lauren Burke, brothers Thomas, Richard & Bill Burke, sisters Joanne Burke & Diane Rogers, as well as grandson Wyatt Donald Burke.
Family and Friends are invited to visit from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday December 7th at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ 08051 and Friday December 8th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Smith Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am.
