Donald J. Saul Sr. age 77, of Mantua, NJ, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 at home with family by his side. Don was a Master Carpenter, and a retired member of the Philadelphia Carpenter's Union. It’s hard to put into words what Dad has meant to each of us and to those he may have impacted during his lifetime. He was reliable, always there for you, and made things happen. He impressed his girlfriend with heartfelt and loving letters about his experiences while in the Air Force. Two years later they married and soon started a family. He built things; such as his kids houses and constantly improved his own houses over the years. He was a role model as to how to treat your wife. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, helping others, spending time with the love of his life Marie, raising his four boys into men and playing with his grandchildren.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 56 plus years, Marie S. Saul (nee Winkler), his children, Donald Jr. (Kate) of Chalfont, PA, Eric (Sherry), of Sewell, NJ, Michael (Justina), Mantua, NJ and Jeff (Gloria), of Westville, NJ., his grandchildren; Samantha, Olivia, Melanie, Brittany, Shane, Eric Jr., Rick, Jesse and great grandsons Zackery and Jason; Pop Pop loved each of you dearly. Sadly missed by beloved brother Harold C. Saul and sister Dale Dean (Alan) both of Jensen Beach, FL. Predeceased by sister Linda and Jerry Rutledge. Loved by his Uncle Jack, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street Mantua, NJ 08051. Memorial Service will be held at 8:00 pm. Interment to be private.
