Obituary for William James Reilly Sr.

William James  Reilly Sr.
Reilly, William (Bill) James, Sr. of Mantua, NJ, went to be with his Lord on January 9, 2018 after a struggle with cancer at the age of 76 years. He was born in Woodbury, NJ to William Hiram and Clara (Dorn) Reilly, the brother of Claire Simon and is survived by nephews Robert Dick and Francis Dickson.
Bill will be lovingly remembered by Catherine (Kitty) Bittle Reilly his wife of over 53 years. Survived by son, COL (Ret) William James Reilly, Jr. (Darlene), Ashburn, VA, daughters Kelly Ann DeFusco (David), Mickleton, NJ and Jacqueline Patricia Schubert (Jason), Mechanicsburg, PA, grandchildren Katie Elizabeth Reilly, Christopher James Reilly, Tyler Jason Schubert, Lindsey Ann Schubert and Olivia Catherine DeFusco.
Bill graduated Clayton HS in 1959, played semi-pro football, was an officer on the Woodbury police force before becoming the owner of Kitty’s Kitchen in Thorofare, NJ. Bill was an avid back-bay fisherman in Strathmere, NJ and a 29 year veteran of Whale Creek Marina. He was recently working in sales part-time for Premier Builders, Williamstown, NJ. Bill was a man who never hesitated to give a compliment.
Viewing hours will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 am on Saturday morning of January 13th at Church of the Incarnation, 240 Main St, Mantua Township, NJ 08051. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am. Burial will take place following the church service at Lake Park Cemetery in Swedesboro, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, those who desire may make memorial donations in memory of Bill Reilly to Wounded Warriors or Franklin & Marshall College’s Shadek Stadium for the sponsorship of a football locker in Bill’s name.
