Jeanette  Palmer (Durante)
Jeanette Palmer 94, residing at the Mews in Woodbury, formerly of Oak Valley passed away peacefully on 1/21/18. She was born in Philadelphia on December 23, 1923 a daughter of the late George and Rika Durante.

Jeanette worked as a secretary in hotels in Atlantic City and spent her earlier days living around the Jersey Shore. She was a great swimmer and body surfer. She married the love of her life a Marine and a war hero, Robert Palmer on 09/01/1950. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Prior to relocating to the Woodbury Mews, Jeanette lived in Oak Valley. She loved her home there, where she lived for over 50 years, being one of the first families to move into the development. During that time, she worked at Tyco, W.T Grants then Bradlees. Jeanette was active in both the Boy Scouts, as a Den Mother, and Girls Scouts as an Assistant Leader. She was an ardent bowler and a team captain. Later in her life she enjoyed playing bingo, going out to dinner and trips to the beach. Jeanette was also member of the First Presbyterian Church of Woodbury Heights and their Primetimers group.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert, a brother George, and a grandson Daniel Kent. She also is survived by her children, Jack Palmer and wife Janine, Barbara Kent and husband Mike, and Bob Palmer and wife Nan, grandchildren, Jessica Pizarro, Jack Palmer Jr., Paul Palmer, and Michael Kent, and great grandchildren, Alex & Eva Pizarro and Zachary, Camryn, & Victoria Kent.

Family and Friends may visit from 10 am to 11 am on Friday, January 26th, at First Presbyterian Church of Woodbury Heights, 335 Elm Ave., Woodbury Heights, NJ 08097 where Funeral Services will be held at 11 am. Burial will be in Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery in Monroe Township, NJ.
