Dr. Philip D. Hopely, Sr., "Doc" age 74 of Richland, NC died Sunday, July 11, 2010. A doctor of Chiropractic Medicine, he was a former resident of Sewell and a graduate of Pitman High School, Class of 1953.  Doc served in the US Army  as SP-5 from 1959-1963 and was  Valedictorian of his X-ray class.  He graduated from Chiropractic Institute of New York in 1965 where he was also Class Valedictorian.  He loved playing guitar, old clocks, woodworking and 1957 Chevys. He is survived by his companion Wilma Marchei, his mother Bessie Hopely, son Phil Hopely, Jr. (and his wife Christine), daughter Cheryll Samuels, sister Marion Hopely, brother Robert Hopely, granddaughter, Stacie Samuels and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may visit with the family 9-11 AM Thursday, July 15 at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Mantua, NJ  where funeral services will be held at 11 AM.  Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
