Obituary for Rowland C. Hill

Rowland C. Hill, age 84 of Sewell, NJ passed away on August 6, 2015. Born in Wood-Ridge, NJ he served in the US Army during the Korean War. Rowland began his career as an educator in Livingston, NJ and also was a teaching principal at Sewell Elementary School. He was the first principal at Clearview Regional High School in Mullica Hill, NJ and retired as Deputy Superintendent from Cherry Hill Public Schools in 1988. Rowland spent his retirement years enjoying his family, gardening, model railroading, and teaching Bible studies.

Husband of Joyce M. Hill (nee Knapp), he is also survived by his children, Rich & Carol Hill, of Monroe NC; Linda & Larry Bomberger, of Farmington, NM; Janet & Tom Hanrahan, of Lexington Park, MD; Barbara Gregory, of Mantua, NJ; Nancy & Jeff Magin, of Mullica Hill, NJ; grandchildren, Jason, Jessica & Jordanna Hill, Carisa & Nate Engels, Klista Bomberger, Carrie & Stephen Crossley, Sara, Ashley & Justin Hanrahan, Lauren, Julianne, Emily & Alicia Magin. Rowland was predeceased by his parents, John A. and Helen A. Hill, and siblings, Winifred Erickson & Robert Hill.

Relatives and friends may visit from 9 to 11 AM Monday, August 10th at Southwood Baptist Church, 11 Griscom Lane, Woodbury, NJ 08096 where a service will be held at 11 AM. Burial with military honors will follow at Gloucester County Memorial Cemetery. He had a heart for missions, therefore in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Beginnings BFC Mission Fund, 335 Glassboro Road, Woodbury Heights, NJ 08097 who will direct them to his favorite missions.
