Obituary for George Alvin Long
George Alvin Long age 83, of Deptford passed away Monday, June 26, 2017. Born in Woodbury he was a raised in Penns Grove and was a graduate of St. James High School. He served in the Air Force and worked in Top Secret Communications, still keeping in touch with fellow veterans. He was a self-employed operating his own water proofing company. George loved traveling with his wife Mary, enjoyed gardening, and was an active member of Southwood Baptist Church.
Husband for 53 years, George is survived by his wife Mary C. Long (nee Orange), sister Joan Scully, 3 nephews and 3 nieces. Family and Friends are invited to visit from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Southwood Baptist Church 11 Griscom Lane Woodbury, NJ 08096. Memorial Services will follow at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Southwood Baptist Church. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.smithfhmantua.com
