Obituary for Francis A. Witt

Francis A. Witt
Francis A. Witt age 78, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018. Born and raised in National Park he was a son to Joseph Witt and Rita (nee Corcoran). He was Vice President of Marketing for McKernan Architects and Associates in Cherry Hill. Francis was a former Mayor of National Park for 16 years, and served as former chairman on the Gloucester County Democratic Committee as well as the Gloucester County Utilities Authority. He was a former Commissioner for the Pinelands Commission and served on the Rowan College at Gloucester County Foundation Board. Francis always enjoyed attending many various events and functions with his friends and colleagues. Fran was happiest spending every weekend at home with his family. He especially looked forward to the summers spending time with his family at his daughter’s house in Wildwood Crest. But most of all Francis loved his wife Gen, his daughters and truly adored his grandchildren.

Francis is survived by his wife, Genevieve E. Witt (nee VanDexter), four daughters, Genevieve E. Witt of Mt. Laurel, Frances A. Morey (Lou) of Wildwood Crest, Patricia A. Koskinen (John) of Oak Valley, and Kathleen M. Keegan (Jack) of West Deptford, five grandchildren, Billy, Louie, Matt, Jack and Genna, and one great grandson, Lucas.

Family and Friends may visit from 9 am to 12 pm on Saturday, February 10th, at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, where funeral services will be held at 12 pm. Entombment will follow at New St. Mary's Mausoleum in Bellmawr. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.smithfhmantua.com
